Covance is hiring Histotechnologists to join our team in Indianapolis, IN at our Central Laboratories. If you join the Covance team, there is a $5,000.00 sign-on bonus.
In addition, there is relocation assistance when you move to Indianapolis, IN. This is a 1st shift opportunity. (We ask that you do work a Saturday rotation.)

The Histotechnologist will receive, inspect and validate incoming samples.
Scan samples into databases
Label and route specimens to the correct department or second laboratory
Sample pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic processing
Tissue slide staining both automated platforms and manual for routine and special stains, and bone decalcification
Maintain accurate paper work and audit trail for samples
Flexibility on duties and hours. Saturday rotation required

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university with a combination of 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry AND successful completion of an accredited Histotechnician or Histotechnology program within the last 5 years
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college/university with a combination of 30 semester hours(45 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry AND one year full time acceptable experience in histopathology laboratory within the last ten years, under the supervision of a pathologist or an appropriately board certified medical scientist.
The ideal candidate should have at least 8 months experience in FFPE and frozen tissue block sectioning, wet tissue processing, minor tissue grossing, good working knowledge of tissue orientation for embedding of a variety of tissue types.
