Mohs surgeon in private practice seeks a histotech with frozen section experience to process fresh tissue with Mohs frozen section techniques in busy private practice. Background in histology, cryostat preparation and maintenance, and histo-chemical staining is essential. Full or part time.
The Mohs Technician will be expected to properly process, cut and stain tissue specimens. A vehicle, cryostat and the necessary tools and supplies will be provided for use to and from the lab site. Slide quality must be consistently maintained at a high quality level for evaluation by the Mohs Surgeon. TheHistology Technician/ Mohs Lab Technician will also be responsible for maintaining all lab equipment, preparing orders for lab supplies and maintaining complete and accurate logs to satisfy and maintain Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) requirements for the lab area. The successful candidate(s) will also be expected to understand and consistently apply all aspects of the CLIA regulations in the lab area.

Performing all routine and special histology procedures, including frozen sections for Mohs.
Embedding, cutting, mounting, and staining tissue specimens.
Maintaining processor, cryostat and other lab equipment.
Labeling slides, filing slides, accessioning and grossing tissue.
HT(ASCP)/HTL (ASCP) certification
Superior organizational, technical and operational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
The ability to work independently, yet also effectively participate as a part of a team.
1-3 years Dermatology Histology Technician experience preferred
