Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Histologist at our facility you will be an integral part of our Laboratory team. We are a highly functioning team that supports many different departments and has a passion for providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing. In this role:
· You will file, locate, log, retrieve, and deliver pathology specimens/reports.
· You will perform standard histology procedures for embedding, cutting, mounting, and staining tissue for analysis.
· You will provide the pathologist with well stained microscopic slides of surgical sections and perform any necessary procedures for microscopic diagnosis
· You will perform specialized testing as assigned.
· You will assist in instructing other personnel as assigned.
· You will assure that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times.
The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) is a full-service hospital with 318 plus patient beds. We serve as the region’s healthcare provider and serve southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana. · Certified as a Histotechnician from an accredited school.
· Histologist Certification from ASCP preferred.
· 2 years of Histology experience preferred.
· Must have good verbal and written skills and good computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
