CellNetix Pathology and Laboratories seeks QA and Risk Manager to oversee all laboratory safety, quality assurance and risk management processes for the company under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer and the Medical Director.
The Quality & Risk Manager works with laboratory department and division supervisors, directors and pathologists to ensure that the proper documentation, procedures and policies are in compliance. This individual will act as a resource to communicate QA, Safety and Risk policies and processes for an organization as well as build laboratory risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company. The Manager will also perform evaluations, evaluating the company’s previous handling of operation risks, and comparing potential risks with criteria set out by the company such as costs and legal requirements. This individual must problem-solve difficult situations with strong customer service skills.
Quality and Safety
Ensures routine safety inspections for main lab location as well as the smaller Cellnetix labs.
Create contingency plans to manage crises.
Maintains Respirator Program and training for staff.
Ensures all necessary staff have the proper annul Hazardous Waste training.
Ensures that all corporate Safety related policies are assigned to staff.
Oversees and directs all aspects of the company’s document control system. Will be expected to be a high level, expert user of the system.
Coordinates with all regulatory agencies (OSHA, DOE, DOH, WAC, CAP, CLIA, state specific medical test site agencies, etc.) regarding applications, inspections and works with supervisors as appropriate.
Member of the Quality Committee and works in close collaboration with the chairperson.
Acts as a resource/internal expert for supervisors in developing training modules and competency assessments.
Works with supervisors to ensure CAP/CLIA accreditation standards are met including proficiency testing at all division sites.
Schedules and participates in DOH and CAP inspections at all division sites.
As time allows participates on-site in all CAP and DOH inspections.
Direct and modify quality control measures to assure consistently high quality and take immediate and proper action when necessary.
Recognizes and troubleshoots both routine and complex problems and assist department staff with technical problems.
Performs and or coordinates mid-year (off year) inspections.
Keeps current with all QA/Safety related federal and state laws and regulations. Assumes other duties as delegated by the Medical Director and Chief Operating Officer.
Actively participates in process improvements.
Laboratory Risk Management
Oversees the laboratory Risk management program which includes working directly with the medical director and pathologist manager.
Performing risk assessments: Analyzing current risks and identifying potential risks that could have an impact on the company.
Propose possible solutions/programs/protocols for minimizing risk and liability.
Evaluate the gravity of each risk by considering its consequences.
Prepare reports and present recommendations to appropriate committees.

Demonstrates general knowledge of pathological and physiological conditions that affect test results and tissue staining.

Must have own transportation and be able to move to multiple company sites as needed

REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS:
MT(ASCP), HTL (ASCP) or HT (ASCP), CT (ASCP), PA (ASCP)
Bachelor Degree/ Master Degree in related field
Minimum of 3 years Quality Assurance experience
Experience with certification/accreditation through CAP
Minimum of 3 years of Risk Management experience preferred
Experience with LEAN/Six Sigma helpful
preferred to have CPHQ and/or the equivalent certification in risk management
