This is a full time PA position at a high volume academic medical center. This position would join 6 other full time Surgical Pathology PA's,  2 full time Autopsy PA's,  3 full time Grossing Technicians and a 10 person accession team.

Responsibilities include: Grossing complex and simple specimens, cutting and processing frozen sections, accessioning as needed and mentoring Surgical Pathology Residents and Fellows.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Biological, Chemical Sciences or health science related field.

Additional Information:
Master's Degree Pathology Assistant Or CLIA-88
• 1+ years experience as a Pathology Assistant in an appropriate setting is desirable
• Extensive knowledge of gross and surgical anatomy, dissection technique, histologic processing methods and nomenclature
• Prior experience with Laboratory Information Systems
• Certification by a minimum standards exam such as the Broad of Certification HT (ASCP) or equivalent or eligible to take such an exam
• Candidates holding current certification will be hired as Pathology Assistant II
