Candidate will process tissues utilizing necessary equipment to prepare them for analysis. Cuts sections of tissue utilizing equipment that is necessary. Mounts cut sections of tissue onto glass slides. Selects, performs, monitors and or evaluates cytochemical procedures for assessing cellular constituents. Maintains equipment and instruments according to established protocols. Maintains appropriate levels of supplies. Prepares reagents according to manufacturers protocol.
Requires the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; Prior appropriate laboratory experience or combination of education and experience which establishes eligibility for the CMS personnel requirements; Must meet the personnel criteria as determined by CMS as personnel performing moderately and highly complex testing; Must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or related field; One year experience in a CMS certified laboratory preferred; ASCP board certified preferred.
