St. Elizabeth Physicians, the multi-specialty physician organization of St. Elizabeth Healthcare, is one of the oldest, largest and most respected medical providers in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky region. We are seeking a Histology Technician to prepare surgical tissue specimens and slide preparations following established standards and CLIA guidelines for diagnostic microscopic examination. We will rely on you to demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy with patients, families, visitors and other employees.
Associate’s degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology or bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical lab science, chemical science, biological science or physical science
Completion of approved/accredited clinical laboratory training program (could be included in degree requirements) or3 months of documented lab training in each specialty
MOHS experience preferred
Ability to operate and maintain microscope, cryostat and H&E stainer
Ability to handle proper specimen collection, labeling, handling preservation, fixation, processing, preparation, transportation and storage
Ability to understand written protocols, lab reference manuals and memos
Ability to manage a steady volume of work accurately in a busy surgical environment
Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team-based, decision-making culture and independently, resulting in effective outcomes and on-time performance
Valid driver’s license for travel between office sites
Histology certification desired
