This position allows an individual to grow in his/her supervisory and technical skills. The Monday through Friday hours will coordinate with the Pathologist, Dr. Scott Bangert, the other physicians, and the clinical schedule. Support staff is available to assist in fulfilling daily workload, compliance and weekly maintenance requirements, and other duties that fall within the scope of his/her qualifications. Primary Position Responsibilities:
Prepares and grosses, microscopic examination of cell and tissue samples, and discrepancy research and resolution.
Follows CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA and other guidelines required; to represent ADPC in a professional manner.
Maintains established performance and production standards. This includes workflow, scheduling, competencies and audits, and operational guidance and counseling to ensure work output is accurate and within specification.
Direct involvement with procedure validations and instruments validations. Establishes, reviews and approves Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for this area.
Reviews all pertinent controlled logs and sheets. Outsources with vendors, Field Service Technicians, Landlord, Fire Department, Biohazard and Chemical waste transporters, Arizona Dept. of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) and CLIA inspectors.
Maintains Chemical Safety of all solutions, reagents, etc. used by the laboratory.
Direct involvement in all histology equipment performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting.
Oversees slide archiving; randomly checks accuracy of slide organization.
Responsible for purchasing supplies and prices for competitive rates.
