Responsibilities: Routine histology including accessioning, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, H&E staining, frozen sections and cytology prep with the capability to identify problems that may affect test resulting and reporting. Special staining and Immunohistochemistry staining. Experience in IHC preferred including validation of test procedures and control tissues, reagent preparation and maintenance and troubleshooting of IHC instrumentation. Routine maintenance and troubleshooting of histology instruments. Adhere to the laboratory quality control policies including documentation, recognizing and correcting outlying issues. Demonstrate knowledge of safety and compliance programs. Assist with special projects and other duties including clerical and support, as assigned by the manager or lead tech. Maintenance of inventory. CoPath pathology system computer skills. Supervised grossing of specimens as trained. Other duties as assigned.
