Histotechnologist or Histology Technician (Medical Lab)

$12,500 sign-on bonus is available. Evening shift.

Requirements:

• Must work a 40-hour/week, full-time schedule.
• Must work a specified shift if applicable (days, evenings, or nights; weekend rotation if required).
• 24-month commitment with prorated repayment for early termination.

The salary range shown below reflects that of a Histotechnologist. The salary range for a Histology Technician is $22.39 - $35.82.

Responsible for performing histological procedures to aid in diagnosis, research, and instruction.

• Prepares tissue samples for routine microscopic analysis.
• Maintains and operates laboratory equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and procedures.
• Demonstrates knowledge of quality, safety, and compliance programs.
• Investigates, documents, communicates, and resolves needs, problems, or complaints.
• Performs area-specific support/clinical activities.

• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $26.76 - $42.82 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Clinical education in a histology technician school (HT) program accredited by NAACLS or 1 year of experience.
• Experience: 1 year of experience in a histology laboratory.
• Licensure: HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) or eligible. Certification within 18 months of hire.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires sitting, standing for prolonged periods, frequently walking, and bending/stooping. Repetitive motion: embedding, microtomy, cover slipping. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull 20-50 lbs. May be exposed to fumes, chemicals, noise, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.

The salary range reflected in this job posting is for a Histology Technician. Additional compensation is available if you are hired in as a Histotechnologist. The level of eligibility will be discussed during the recruitment process.
