Supplemental Histology Technician - Ben Taub Hospital
JOB SUMMARY:Procures, prepares, and stains tissue sections. Assists the pathologist in making microscopic diagnoses. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Specialized Training/Licensure: H. S. Diploma/GED with 3 years histopathology experience within the last 10 years in the following areas: fixation, microtomy, processing, and staining OR Associate's Degree (AA) Histology or related field OR Recent graduate from an accredited Histology School Work Experience (Years and Area): Recent graduate must pass ASCP or equivalent Board within one year of graduation Equipment Operated: Microtome, Automatic Stainer, Automatic Slide coverslipper, Tissue Processor, SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Other
